Dear Dr. Roach:My husband and I have been taking the medication for several years. We've been trying to get him to stop using finasteride and he's been taking it for a year now. He has had the same side effects he's had with Propecia and Proscar. I would not have tried finasteride on him without seeing him on the hair loss forum. He's been taking it for about 3 months now and it hasn't caused any side effects. I'm just curious how long has it been since he stopped using it? I've read that Propecia usually takes about 3 to 4 months before seeing any effects, but I'm not sure how long he has been on the medication. Can anyone share their experiences with finasteride? Is there anything I should be aware of before he starts taking the medication?
As far as I'm concerned, Propecia is still effective. The only thing that may have been causing these side effects is that Proscar is also a stronger finasteride (which is very effective) and it has been for years. Propecia is currently the most effective way to treat this, but there are also other options that may work well. I've tried finasteride, Proscar, and Propecia at the same time to get the same results. However, I've also read that Propecia should be taken daily, which is the only time that I've taken it. I don't know if that would be right for Propecia or finasteride. Does anyone know of a different dosage or other suggestions for taking it?
He has had the same side effects as I've had with Propecia and Proscar. I'm also interested to hear from his doctor. Thanks in advance!
I've been taking the Proscar for years. It has been an amazing experience. It's been one year since he stopped taking it and the side effects have been minimal. He has been on the medication for about a year now and I have no idea what to do about it. It's been a long time since he's taken Proscar. I know that Propecia is effective in treating hair loss, but the side effects of Propecia have been mild and I don't know how long it will take to reverse the results. I would love to hear your experiences with finasteride. I've read that Propecia has been the same in my own case, but I've also read that Proscar is the most effective way to get hair loss. It has been for years. I just have not been sure if that would work for Propecia or finasteride. Any advice would be appreciated!
My husband and I had a long-term battle with Finasteride. We've been taking it for about three months now and he's had his entire life. He's been taking Propecia for about 6 months now. He's been on the medication for about a year now and it's been the only thing that he's taken. It seems that Propecia is working okay for him, but I'm not sure if it's working for him. I think it may be due to the fact that he's had a receding hairline (which he's had with Proscar) and it's causing side effects. His hair looks back to him as it was a few years ago when he was bald. He's been on the medication for almost 4 months now and it's causing the same side effects as Propecia. I'm just curious how long has it been since he stopped taking it?
